A new gardening question of the day appears every day of the year on the front page of Almanac.com. Below is the answer to one of the questions from our Gardening Questions and Answers Archive where you can find over 400 more gardening questions (with answers!).

Question:

How do you harvest kale -- take the whole plant or just the leaves?

Answer:

Remove the older, outside leaves for best results, but you can cut off the entire plant if you wish. The tender mature leaves are best, and if you take just the outer leaves, you can allow the inner leaves to mature further for better taste.
